Xiaomi, at the launch of Redmi 4A yesterday has shown an upcoming smart
SMS feature which will be added to MIUI in coming weeks. Dubbed as the
Smart IRCTC SMS, this feature will make the IRCTC booking messages lot
more understandable than the boring old confirmation message, which most
of the people doesn’t even understand.
That said, this new feature is almost similar to that of Google Now integration. For example, Google application in smartphones automatically collects the information in the background from Gmail app such as flight bookings and displays it in the Google Now page, and the same applies to this new feature from Xiaomi as it shows a card for the IRCTC confirmation message.
Also, Xiaomi is adding a button which allows you to check the PNR status right from the message itself. Xiaomi claimed that the feature will be added in upcoming MIUI 8 updates, but haven’t revealed any estimated time.
Xioami’s MIUI is one of the feature-rich user interfaces with some attractive features such as dual apps, second space, theme engine, etc. Besides this new feature, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 4A smartphone in India, the successor to Redmi 1S.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with attractive specifications including 5-inch HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, and a 3120mAh battery. The phone comes with a cut throat price of Rs. 5,999 and will be up for sale from tomorrow. The company also announced that the successors to Redmi 3s and 3s Prime are coming soon.
